University Professor Committee and Distinguished Professor Committee

Purpose

The University Professor Committee is responsible for reviewing nominations for University Professorships and the Distinguished Professor Committee is responsible for reviewing nominations for Distinguished Professorships, both making recommendations to the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The Dean forwards the nominations to the office of the Provost for consideration by the university level review committees, accordingly. Nominations for these awards will be made by three College of Agriculture and Life Sciences University Professors from at least three departments.

Committee Composition and Operations

Committee members are appointed by the Dean. Each Committee is composed of three University Professors from at least three departments. The term of faculty membership is three years with approximately one-third of the committee rotating off each year. No more than two consecutive terms may be served. The committee members elect the Chair.
