The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) has two beautiful, spacious Collaborative Learning Labs in the Student Innovation Center (SICTR) sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America ready for you to use – whether as spaces for project-based learning, student teams to meet, or for recruiting future students. If it involves student engagement and collaboration – we’re open!
The Learning Labs, SICTR 4227 and SICTR 4229, are both spacious seminar rooms that overlook south campus. Both rooms are ideally situated on the fourth floor of the Student Innovation Center, directly across from the student-run coffee shop and snack bar Sparks and kitty-corner from the elevators and stairs (see map).

Teach in one of the rooms
If you would like to teach in one of these rooms, please contact Marcy Cheville (marcyc@iastate.edu) to check out room availability. Please have your departmental partner submit a Course Offering Change Form (COCF) via Workday. The department partner for your department can be found here: departmental contact. Once the COCF is submitted, Room Scheduling will email the departmental contact the approval of the room reserved for your class.
Important reminder: The permission for the use of these spaces is for the SEMESTER only because the departmental spaces don’t automatically clear from Workday. It’s the departmental contact’s responsibility to clear the location of the course for future semesters. If you want to continue the room assignment, please follow these same steps for the next semester.
If you would like to learn more about these spaces or take a tour of them and the rest of the Student Innovation Center, please contact Marcy Cheville.
