Translating experiences for career success

Natalie Dombrowski

Natalie Dombrowski (biology) thinks about her future as a professional a lot. So much so that she attended a resume building workshop with the CALS Career Services Office right away her first semester at Iowa State. The workshop gave her ideas on how to share her undergraduate experience and perspective on what prospective employers might make of the experiences listed, just in time to attend her first career fair.

That undergraduate experience includes membership in the Biological Sciences Club, where Natalie has the opportunity to hear from speakers with a variety of professional experiences and learn more about the professional scientific community, as well as collaborative class projects like in Introduction to Renewable Resources where students developed an improvement plan for the management of a plot of farm and municipal land.

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Career Services Office not only coordinates a career fair in the fall and spring, but is available for assistance with resumes, interview skills, and general career information. With connections to industry professionals and our alumni network, the Career Services Office is prepared to help you refine your professional skills to reach your goals.

Get ready for your adventure!
