Abbie Portz (agronomy) calls herself inquisitive. She came to Iowa State ready to take full advantage of the opportunities to network and learn in clubs, learning communities, and so much more.
In the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS), faculty and staff work to connect students with the resources and people who will help make them successful. More than that, campus plays host to a variety of extra events designed to provide even more learning for students who take initiative to attend.
Abbie has made connections with several faculty thanks to her questions and discussion during class. Attending guest lectures as well as participating in discussions afterward has contributed to her learning. Thanks to her inquisitive nature, Abbie has a variety of perspectives on the things that interest her and a diverse network of experts to expand her knowledge.
