Dr. Acker has been involved in international research and education since 1975. He earned a Ph.D. from Oregon State University in 1989, including dissertation research conducted in Tanzania. He has been awarded two Fulbright fellowships, served as a consultant in eight countries, and is a past president of the Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education. Dr. Acker has lectured in Austria, China, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Greece, Guinea, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Uganda, and Ukraine.
