As Associate Dean, I spearhead our college's commitment to excellence in research and discovery enterprise, supporting students, staff, and faculty. We strive for agriculture and life sciences innovation through strategic partnerships that bridge academic research with producer/farmer, industry and consumer needs. We are fostering partnerships that connect academic inquiry with the needs of farmers, producers, and industry stakeholders, bridging the gap between research and real-world impact. We leverage CALS’ eclectic domain expertise and interdisciplinary sciences to transform farm economies by developing and utilizing cutting-edge technologies and methods that improve farm and farming systems, and advances life sciences.
We prioritize faculty and staff development, recognition, and promotion, ensuring a thriving and rewarding academic environment. We cultivate educational experiences that prepare students and the next-generation workforce to address complex, evolving agricultural challenges. My professional trajectory exemplifies this collaborative and service approach - having developed >75 varieties grown in >13 million acres annually, >180 publications, leadership on >70 funded projects, and >80 invited presentations at national and international venues. I am committed to fostering innovation and partnerships that drive meaningful change across agriculture and agricultural communities utilizing my breeding, education, discovery, and research experience that spans animal husbandry, crop sciences, cropping systems, and cyber-agricultural systems.
