Second Spring Ag Career Day Scheduled for Feb. 4

AMES, Iowa — The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is planning its second spring job fair on Feb. 4. Last year, interest from employers looking for job and internship candidates prompted the college's Career Services office to schedule its first spring career fair. The annual fall Ag Career Day is the largest of its kind in the nation and drew 161 in 2008, said Mike Gaul, director of Agriculture and Life Sciences Career Services. He said there are about 75 employers confirmed so far for the spring Ag Career Day. Last spring's fair included 95 companies and organizations who came to recruit students. Gaul said he has noticed a slight impact from the economic downturn. He expected the final number of employers to be between 80 to 90. The spring edition of Ag Career Day will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Great Hall, Memorial Union. A list of the employers participating is available on the Career Services website.
