AMES, Iowa – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach grain quality expert Charles Hurburgh will hold joint media availability on Friday morning. Secretary Naig will provide an update on the crop damage he’s seen around the state. Charles Hurburgh, professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering and professor in charge of the Iowa Grain Quality Initiative, will give an overview of how the crop damage caused by the drought and derecho may affect grain quality and storage this fall.
