ISU Sustainable Agriculture Program Features Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Candidate Debate Oct. 3

Ames, Iowa — The Iowa State Sustainable Agriculture Colloquium will host a debate Oct. 3 between two Iowa Secretary of Agriculture candidates who’ll be on the ballot in the Nov. 6 election.
 
Participating will be Democratic candidate Tim Gannon and Libertarian candidate Rick Stewart. The debate will be moderated by Neil Hamilton, director of the Drake University Agricultural Law Center.
 
The event, organized by the Sustainable Agriculture Graduate Program, is free and open to the public. It will be held from 3:10 to 4:10 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Gallery of the Memorial Union at Iowa State University. A meet-and-greet opportunity with the candidates will follow the event with refreshments provided.
 
The candidates will respond to questions submitted beforehand by the public or at the event by audience members. Questions should be emailed by 5 p.m., Sept. 30, to Kristine Lang, kneu@iastate.edu. Include your question, name and Iowa hometown.
