ISU Alum and Futurist Presents College Of Ag And Life Sciences Sesquicentennial Lecture Feb. 21

AMES, Iowa — Internationally renowned speaker and futurist Lowell Catlett will present the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences ISU Sesquicentennial Lecture on Feb. 21. Catlett, an ISU alum, Regent's professor and dean of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics at New Mexico State University, will present "Dreaming the Future: Trends and Technologies for the Next 150 Years," at 7 p.m. in the Sun Room of the Iowa State Memorial Union. His presentation will walk the audience through potential futures and how to prepare to make the next 150 years the most "phenomenal" in history. Catlett is known for sharing his knowledge of technologies and their implications on the way society lives and works in his varied and upbeat presentations. Catlett is a native Texan who earned his bachelor's degree in agricultural business and economics from West Texas State University, his master's in agricultural economics at New Mexico State University and his doctorate in economics at Iowa State. Catlett's lecture is part of a community-wide celebration of Iowa State's sesquicentennial. The lecture is sponsored by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with support from the ISU Lectures Program/Government of the Student Body.
