Iowa State's Farm Operations Club First in National Contest

AMES, Iowa — A team of undergraduate students from Iowa State University's Farm Operations Club placed first in the National Post-Secondary Agriculture College Quiz Bowl at the National Post-Secondary Agriculture Students convention March 11-14 in Hershey, Pa.

Quiz Bowl team members were Cole Burrack, Arlington; Eric Dial, Hastings; Nick Griffieon, Ankeny; Corey Hillebo, Elkhart; and Alex Johnk, Walnut. The team is advised by Tom Paulsen, lecturer in agricultural education and studies.

The team also had five outstanding individual finishes. In the crops specialist competition Will Cornelius, Bellevue, placed first and Brian Anderson, Marathon, placed second. In the beef specialist competition Cole Burrack placed first and Kara Moeller, Strawberry Point, placed third. Ross Enslin of Ackley placed second in the soils specialist competition.

Other club members participating in the contest were Zach Klaver, Kamrar; Alicia Wulf, Charles City; Laura Johnk, Walnut; Betsy Jensen, Penn Yan, NY; Janie Imming, Storm Lake; and Tasha Kopf, Independence.
