Iowa State Livestock Judging Team Tops at National Barrow Show

The Iowa State University Livestock Judging Team took top honors Sept. 13 at the National Barrow Show Senior College Judging Contest in Austin, Minn. The Iowa State team finished first ahead of 14 competing schools. Individually, several team members excelled in the competition. They included: Matt Schneider, animal science senior of Lone Tree, who ranked eighth overall and fourth in oral reasons; Pete Burmeister, agricultural studies senior of Mt. Auburn, 14th overall; Justin Fix, agricultural business senior of Muscatine, and Rob Rudolphi, agricultural studies senior of Marengo, tied for 16th overall; Adam Conover, animal science senior of Baxter, 19th overall and first in placings. Other team members who competed were: Kristin Keel of Juneau, Wis.; Sam Ruble of Ames; Dustin Snakenberg of Oskaloosa; Dawn Clingan of Batavia; Kim Etzel of Alburnett; and Ben Drescher of Alden, Minn. The team was coached by Clint Schwab, animal science graduate student.
