Iowa State Assistant Professor Honored by International Agriculture Teaching Association

Thomas Paulsen, assistant professor of agricultural education and studies
AMES, Iowa — Thomas Paulsen received a Graduate Student Teaching Award from the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) at the association's annual conference June 14-18. Paulsen, an assistant professor of agricultural education and studies at Iowa State University, was recognized for his commitment to, and excellence in, college teaching and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Paulsen is the instructor for several agricultural education and studies courses and is the faculty advisor for the Farm Op Club. He received his B.S. in agricultural education from Northwest Missouri State and his M.S. and Ph.D. in agricultural education from Iowa State. Before joining Iowa State in 2008, he most recently served as agriculture instructor at Carroll High School. NACTA is a professional society that promotes the recognition of excellence in teaching agriculture and related areas at the post-secondary level.
