First CPRES Distinguished Lecture is May 31

Jian-Kang Zhu, plant sciences department, University of Arizona, will present the first Distinguished Lecturer Seminar on Plant Response to Environmental Stress, Friday, May 31, at 2 p.m. in 1414 Molecular Biology Building. Zhu will talk on cell signaling under salt, drought and cold stress. Zhu is a leader in the field of abiotic stress signaling. His pioneering work on the signal transduction pathway(s) activated during the response of plants to abiotic stress has brought him worldwide recognition. His work identified key components of the signal transduction pathway(s) activated during stress, as well as crucial points of cross-talk between different pathways activated during different stresses. Each year, The Center for Plant Responses to Environmental Stresses (CPRES) will host a speaker who is a leader in the field of abiotic or biotic stress response of plants.
