Brazilian Expert to Speak About Asian Soybean Rust

Alvaro Almeida will speak about soybean rust control strategies in Brazil at a seminar tomorrow at 4 p.m. in 127 Curtiss Hall at Iowa State University. Almeida is research leader for Asian soybean rust at EMBRAPA Soja in Londrina, Brazil. EMBRAPA is the national research institution for agriculture in Brazil, which is equivalent to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service. The seminar is sponsored by the ISU Plant Sciences Institute's Center for Plant Responses to Environmental Stresses and the Iowa Soybean Promotion Board. Almeida is visiting Iowa State University to discuss collaborative research on soybean rust with Iowa State scientists.
