AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is excited to resume its annual, on-campus career day on Oct. 12.

The in-person event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lied Recreation Center, 518 Beach Road in Ames. It is open to the public, as well as Iowa State students and alumni.

Current ISU COVID-19 guidelines will be followed at the event. Those guidelines can be found at: https://web.iastate.edu/safety/updates/covid19.

Additionally, the college will host a virtual career day Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is only available to Iowa State students and alumni. Students are encouraged to sign up for the virtual event ahead of time through their CyHire account.

“Although employers greatly value the face-to-face interaction with our students, our office recognizes that many recruiters and students may be uncomfortable with large, in-person events right now, so we have added a virtual option to benefit all who want to participate,” said Mike Gaul, associate director of career services at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

The Agriculture and Life Sciences Career Day has so far attracted about 190 organizations, and Gaul hopes to be above 200 by the time of the event. Career Day is the official kick-off to the recruitment season and many companies will remain on campus for interviews Oct. 13 and Oct. 14.

The CALS Career Day remains the largest career fair of its kind in the country. A list of the organizations participating can be found at: https://www.career.cals.iastate.edu/cals-career-day.
