What are the goals and missions of the Iowa Corn Growers Collegiate Club?
The Iowa Corn Growers Collegiate Club is the student affiliation group of the Iowa Corn Growers Association here at Iowa State University. Some goals of our club include making connections with people within the industry, learning about job opportunities and internships, and understanding how Iowa Corn impacts many different areas in agriculture.
When and where does the club meet?
The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month during the academic year in 2234 Bessey. There is a social that starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by a meeting that starts at 5:45 p.m.
What opportunities does the club have for students to get involved? Leadership?
Students can get involved by becoming a club officer. This responsibility includes coordinating meetings, organizing industry tours and events, and communicating with various members of the industry. Iowa Corn Growers Collegiate Club membership includes membership to the Iowa Corn Growers Association. This connection grants students leadership opportunities hosted by the Iowa Corn Growers Association, such as the Collegiate Advisory Team.
What are some club events, activities, or fundraisers?
The club strives to organize one-day industry tour trips each fall and spring semester. Students will tour different places that play a role in agriculture and Iowa Corn. CALS Week activities are other events the club participates in. During CALS Week, the Iowa Corn trailer is available for students to walk through and ask questions. Alongside campus events, club members can attend any Iowa Corn event.
Who can join the club? Are there any requirements?
Any Iowa State student is welcome to join the club. The only requirement is student membership in the Iowa Corn Growers Association, which costs $20 per year.

What makes this club fun and unique is the connection with the Iowa Corn Growers Association. At Iowa State, students have club events and meetings on campus as well as the ability to attend events hosted by Iowa Corn and network with people within the association.
