
AMES, Iowa – For the ninth year in a row, Iowa State University’s agricultural programs have been named to the top 4% worldwide among other agriculture and forestry institutions, according to the 2022 QS World University Rankings.
Iowa State’s agricultural programs ranked 14 among 410 institutions worldwide in 2022, maintaining the same spot as last year. Nationally, Iowa State’s rank was No. 7 out of 62 U.S. higher education institutions with agricultural and forestry programs.
In addition, the university’s Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering graduate program was again ranked No. 2, according to a graduate program rankings report from U.S. News and World Report magazine.
That same report also highlighted these other graduate programs within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences:
- Statistics, tied for 10th among public universities and tied for 19th overall
- Economics, tied for 30th among public universities and tied for 57th overall
- Biological sciences, tied for 44th among publics and tied for 80th overall
QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings is part of a British-based organization that ranks based on academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, and H-index, which measures productivity and impact of the published work of a scientist or scholar.
