AMES, Iowa – The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will host a virtual two-day Career Fair on Oct. 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This year students will have the opportunity to interact with companies and employers online through a virtual event hosted by CareerEco. Registration is required and students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the platform prior to the event.
Students can upload their resumes into their participant profile within CareerEco and company representatives will meet with students via chat rooms during the two-day event. Company availability will be posted on the chat schedule.
“The chat schedule will tell you when these companies have signed up for chat rooms,” said Mike Gaul, director of career services at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. “On the day of the event you’ll click ‘Chat Now’ and you will be able to join the chat. There will be group chats and private chats, as well.”
Recruiters will post on CareerEco’s job board descriptions of each available position. The company representatives will also list the days and times they are available to chat online, but will not be holding interviews on campus.
“Unlike in the past, there are not going to be any in-person interviews,” Gaul said. “Companies will more than likely be setting up their own interviews as a result of their interactions with students here.”
