AMES, Iowa — The spring version of the career fair sponsored by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University is set for Feb. 6.
The Agriculture and Life Sciences Spring Career Day is a smaller version of the college’s fall event, which is the largest of its kind in the nation.
The Feb. 6 career fair is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Iowa State Memorial Union, located at 2229 Lincoln Way in Ames. Parking is available in an adjacent ramp.
“The spring career day continues to prove beneficial to recruiters and students,” said Mike Gaul, director of the college’s career service office. “The event includes sectors, such as natural resources, horticulture and communications, that may not have been in recruitment mode during the fall, new organizations looking to tap into our students’ talent or companies that have realized new hiring needs, full-time or internships.”
He said there will be 101 organizations recruiting at the event, the capacity of the smaller space in the union. The list of organization attending is available at: https://www.career.cals.iastate.edu/cals-career-day
The day following the career fair is devoted to job interviews, which will take place in the union: https://www.career.cals.iastate.edu/upcoming-interviews
More than 99 percent of the college’s most recent graduates reported they were working, continuing their education or serving in the military within six months of receiving their diplomas.
Job placement has been 97 percent or higher for 20 consecutive years, and nearly 65 percent of graduates stay in Iowa for their first jobs.
