Geoffrey Dahl Announced as Third Finalist for Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean at Iowa State University

Ames, Iowa — Geoffrey Dahl from the University of Florida is the third finalist for the next endowed Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Director of the Iowa Agricultural and Home Economics Experiment Station at Iowa State University. He will visit campus Sept. 26-28.

Dahl, the Harriet Weeks Professor of Animal Science, will meet with students, faculty, staff and external stakeholders during his visit. He also will hold an open forum Thursday, Sept. 27, from 3-4 p.m. in the Memorial Union Pioneer Room.

Dahl earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; a master’s in dairy science from Virginia Tech; and a doctorate in animal science from Michigan State University. He joined the University of Florida in 2006, following positions at the University of Maryland and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and recently completed 12 years of service as chair of Florida’s Department of Animal Science.
