College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University to Host USDA Job Fair for Recent Graduates

AMES, Iowa — The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Career Services at Iowa State University will host a U.S. Department of Agriculture Pathways for Recent Graduates event Aug. 22.

Recent graduates interested in jobs with the USDA’s Farm Service Agency may apply in person from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Cardinal Room of Iowa State’s Memorial Union, 2229 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa. The job openings can be viewed online after Aug. 16 at:  www.usajobs.gov.

The federal initiative targets recent graduates who have been out of school less than two years or up to six years for graduates with military service, and December 2018 graduates for farm loan officer trainee positions in Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Several recruiters from the Farm Service Agency will be on campus for the event, which is open to the public.

Under this program, recruiters are able to conduct on-site interviews and offer direct hires, thus minimizing the possibly lengthy application process often associated with these positions. If selected, interviews will be conducted on Aug. 24, in the Memorial Union.
