AMES, Iowa – Andrew Lauver, of Lake City, has been named the 2016 Emerging Iowa Leader by the Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Lauver is a seed sales and service professional with DuPont Pioneer. He received a bachelor’s of science in agricultural studies from Iowa State in 2012.
Lauver was selected for making significant contributions in the college’s young alumni program – The Curtiss League – an initiative providing recruitment and advocacy opportunities and recognition for alumni age 40 and younger.
“Andrews’s positive and enthusiastic support of our college has helped raise awareness for strategic initiatives and recruit students. Through his leadership and service he’s a known and effective advocate for agriculture and demonstrates the impact our graduates make in their communities,” said Wendy Wintersteen, endowed dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
The award was presented at center court of Hilton Coliseum during the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences sponsored Cyclone Women’s Basketball game February 6.
Selection of the Emerging Iowa Leader Award is based on efforts to advance agriculture and life sciences in Iowa through communications, education, relationship-building, engagement and outstanding alumni service to the college. Honorees must be age 40 or younger at the time of nomination, live or work in Iowa, and demonstrate high potential for future professional growth.
