Educating Youth About Agriculture

Taylor McFadden is from Accokeck, Maryland and attends North Carolina A&T State University. McFadden concluded working with John-Pa Chaisson-Cardenas, a youth and 4-H program manager, on July 14. McFadden researched the youth 4-H clover’s understanding of science. McFadden enjoyed working with the campers and watching them learn. McFadden says her goal is to educate children about agriculture.

What words of advice do you have for someone who has a passion for science?
“Don’t let anyone deter you from your goal. Get as much experience as you can and
make your goal a reality.”

If you could have one superpower related to science, what would it be?
“I would have the power to heal animals.”

Who is your role model and why?
“My mom because she is a self-driven individual who is professional in all that she
does.”

Where do you wish to travel?
“Egypt.”

What is you favorite restaurant in Ames?
“Granite city.”
