Lessons on animal behavior

Robin Habeger demonstrates the importance of play with Moses for students in animal science 336 class.

Robin Habeger, development officer with the Iowa State Foundation, demonstrates training methods she uses with her dogs. Moses, a two year-old yellow Lab/Golden Retriever, is one of two search and rescue dogs owned by Habeger.

During the training demonstration she emphasizes the importance of body language, timing and play as a reward for working dogs. The students are in Anna Johnson's Domestic Animal Behavior and Well-being class. Johnson is an assistant professor in the animal science department.
