The Undergraduate Microbiology Program offers the bachelor of science degree with a major in Microbiology. Emphasis is placed on understanding how microbes affect human, animal and plant health, food safety and infectious diseases. Students use hands-on activities and experiments to learn about bacteria, fungus, viruses and the immune system.
Half of our Microbiology students find employment as Microbiologists when they graduate. The other half go on to advanced degrees in human & animal medicine, medical lab sciences or graduate programs (MS or PhD)
