INRC Spring 2022 Water Quality Research Seminar Series: Focus on Phosphorus
Presenter: Dr. Chad Penn,
Soil Chemist, USDA- Agricultural Research Service and Purdue University

Dissolved phosphorus (P) loss from high P soils is a long-term problem that conventional BMPs generally don't address. Phosphorus removal structures are landscape-scale filters designed to remove dissolved P from flowing water until soil P levels can be reduced. This presentation provides an overview of several styles of P removal structures with performance and economics, and introduces the design software, P-Trap.
