INRC Spring 2022 Water Quality Research Seminar Series: Focus on Phosphorus
January 26, 2022
Presenter: Justin Chaffin
is research coordinator of Stone Laboratory and Ohio Sea Grant of The Ohio State University.

This presentation covers problems associated with toxic cyanobacterial blooms, why Lake Erie is prone to blooms and current research aimed at reducing the blooms and forecasting their presence and toxicity.  While phosphorus is a main driver of blooms, many other factors have important roles, such as nitrogen, light levels and water currents.
