Iowa State Survey Shows Farm Owners Make Small Increases in Conservation

A survey of Iowa landowners conducted by Iowa State University suggests that adoption of conservation practices has increased slightly since 2012, and that ongoing trends in land ownership and management are likely barriers to a number of conservation practices. However, some of these same barriers may contribute to increased use of no-till management on cropland, researchers found.

Nutrient Reduction Strategy Annual Report Shows Record Conservation Engagement by Iowans

The 2018-2019 Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy (INRS) annual report was released today by Iowa State University, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The findings reveal increased farmer, landowner and community engagement, use of conservation practices and funding invested in soil health and water quality projects. New dashboard tracks Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy

August 19, 2021

A new user-friendly dashboard for the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy was released Aug. 13, 2021, which uses visual reporting tools, like charts, graphs and maps, to share the data instead of a longer, narrative-based report. The information for the 2020 report update is included within the dashboard.
