Conservation on Tap

Farmers, landowners and those interested in local conservation issues can discuss what’s on their mind at the “Conservation on Tap” event Nov. 30 at the Iowa Distilling Co., 4349 Cumming Ave., Cumming, Iowa, from 6-7 p.m. The in-person event is hosted by Iowa Learning Farms and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, in collaboration with Iowa State’s Conservation Learning Group. Hosts will include Matt Helmers, director of the Iowa Nutrient Research Center at Iowa State, and Mark Licht, assistant professor in agronomy and cropping systems specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach. Conservation on Tap in Charles City

An upcoming “Conservation on Tap,” Thursday, November 30 from 6-7 p.m. at Tellurian Brewing in Charles City will provide local farmers, landowners and urban residents with a chance to discuss and ask questions about conservation practices aimed to improve water quality and soil health, as well as managing risk from weather variability and climate change.

Virtual Field Day - Exploring Sustainable Intensification on Iowa's Landscape through Relay Intercropping

A virtual field day on relay intercropping will be held online, Thursday, March 7, at 1 p.m., Central Time. Presenters will be Matt Helmers, Iowa Nutrient Research Center Director, Mark Licht, Iowa State University Assistant Professor and Extension Cropping Systems Specialist, Ross Evelsizer, Natural Resource Projects Director with Northeast Iowa RC&D, and Alex Schaffer, Iowa Soybean Association Research Agronomist.

Iowa Learning Farms (ILF), in partnership with the Iowa Nutrient Research Center, and Conservation Learning Group, is hosting the event.
