Cherie Hill, a clerk with the Iowa State Seed Lab, is the recipient of the Merit Award for Achievement and Service from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University. Hill oversees the Customer Care section where she is responsible for receiving and organizing seed samples, checking them in and distributing them to internal labs. They typically handle more than 35,000 samples each year.
Hill effectively communicates with customers and staff alike and maintains an efficient communication flow among these stakeholders. She has also traveled to many seed conferences and been a welcoming ambassador for the Iowa State Seed Lab. Her work, outstanding customer service and outreach efforts have enhanced the lab’s ability to provide accurate and timely seed testing for facilitating the commerce of seed domestically and internationally.
