Extension celebrates 100th anniversary

Extension farm management specialiast Kelvin Leibold leads a grain marketing session for women.

The 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, the founding legislation of the nationwide Cooperative Extension System, was celebrated when the Iowa Senate passed a bipartisan resolution March 27.

In Iowa, Cooperative Extension is part of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

Extension and Outreach works with CALS to provide Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension, one of its program areas that brings research-based education to Iowans.

Video of the Senate's action and more information are available on extension's anniversary page.
