Join Iowa State University on February 2, 2026, for the annual George Washington Carver Day of Recognition, held from 5:00–7:30 p.m. in the Durham Great Hall of the Memorial Union. The event features reflections on Carver’s legacy, a keynote by artist Amanda Williams, a performance by the Tuskegee University Golden Voices Choir, and concludes with a Carver‑inspired ice cream reception.

Amanda Williams, visual artist and architect, will present how Carver invented and patented a way to create a famous blue pigment from clay and how she used his process and pigment for a renewal project in New Orleans and other art experiments.
