Daren Mueller, associate professor in plant pathology and microbiology, received the Outstanding Extension Award.
Mueller’s extension activities and work with soybean disease and integrated pest management have positively impacted Iowans and national stakeholders.
Since 2008, Mueller has coordinated the Integrated Pest Management Program (IPM) by securing funding, overseeing projects and reporting results. The IPM program provides pest management programming that includes workshops, field days, demonstration plots, video production, social media outreach, field guides and other publications.
Leading by example, Mueller is a mentor to plant pathologists and extension personnel. He connects with stakeholders through traditional and innovative programming to communicate crop protection information.
