CALS Research Day - Poster Submission

CALS Research Day - February 3, 2026

Showcase your research and connect with the CALS community! We invite graduate students, undergraduates, and postdocs to submit posters for CALS Research Day. This is your opportunity to share your hard work, spark conversations, and gain recognition for your innovative ideas. Whether your research is in progress or complete, your contribution matters—let your work inspire others and highlight the impact of CALS research.

General Instructions

  • All undergraduate, graduate, and post-docs are invited to submit for poster presentations.
  • The deadline for poster submissions is Sunday, January 25, 2026, by 11:59 PM. Notification acceptances will be sent out by Wednesday, January 28, 2026.     
  • Be sure to proofread your submission for accuracy. Abstracts will be printed/displayed exactly as submitted.
  • Do not capitalize entire words unless they are accepted abbreviations (i.e., DNA, RNA, etc.)
  • Do not underline or use bold for any text
  • Do not capitalize disease names (i.e., salmonellosis should not be capitalized)
  • It is acceptable to capitalize common virus names (i.e., Rabies Virus or Respiratory Syncytial Virus)
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top winners!

Abstract Format

Authors, Presenters, and Affiliations

  • Enter in authors and affiliation(s) in the designated order. The order in which the authors are listed is the order in which they will be printed/displayed. There is no limit to the number of authors, but the submission form will only allow ten authors.
  • Include author affiliation(s) with each author name.
  • Indicate which author is the presenting author.

Title

  • There is no character limit on titles; however, please use a short and concise title.
  • Only capitalize the first word, proper nouns, and abbreviations
  • Do not use quotation marks in the title or add a period after the last word in the title

Abstract Body Guidelines

Character Limit: Maximum of 250 characters, including spaces. Use a word processing application (e.g., Microsoft Word) to count words and characters.

Content Requirements:

  1. Objective: Provide a concise statement of the study’s objective.
  2. Methods: Briefly describe the methods used, if relevant.
  3. Results: Summarize the key findings of the study.
  4. Conclusions: State the main conclusions drawn from the results.

Poster format

  • Posters may be displayed in either vertical or horizontal orientation. For planning purposes, we need the exact dimensions of your poster to ensure proper placement in the Student Innovation Center. Please measure your poster and provide both the width and height when submitting your information.
