Office of Inclusive Excellence

Finding your place at Iowa State University is a critical part of the college experience, and the CALS Office of Inclusive Excellence is here to help with a variety of clubs, organizations, activities and opportunities.

George Washington Carver Internship Program
In honor of George Washington Carver, an innovative horticulturalist and Iowa State’s first Black student and faculty member, the George Washington Carver Internship Program offers students from around the country an opportunity to visit our campus for eight weeks in the summer. Selected students work side-by-side with Iowa State researchers, in areas from food systems to agronomy.

Student Organizations
The CALS Office of Inclusive Excellence supports two student organizations focused on leadership and professional development. LEAD IT students are offered an opportunity to serve as liaisons to student organizations and academic departments and represent the Dean’s Office at outreach events. ISU MANRRS organizes networking, leadership and development opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students across all CALS majors.
