Jim ('78 agricultural business) and Marcia ('78 family environment) Borel
Johnston, Iowa
Marcia Borel (’78 family environment) worked as a social worker in various roles for the welfare system and then with private agencies. That all changed when she and her husband, Jim (’78 agricultural business), set off on an odyssey around the world with Jim's company, DuPont. Moving nine times in 20 years, raising two children and creating a life for the family — including three international assignments — shaped Marcia's life and beautiful adventure.
Marcia and Jim now live in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Johnston, Iowa. The Borels are active supporters of Iowa State and have a great love of art. They funded the creation of the painting, "Do You Know What’s Inside This Flower? George Washington Carver Mentors a Young Henry A. Wallace" by Rose Frantzen, which hangs in Curtiss Hall on Iowa State's campus.
