The Iowa State University chapter of Alpha Zeta will host the 49th national Biennial Conclave and National Agriculture Leadership Conference April 7-9 at the Comfort Inn in Ames. Alpha Zeta also will celebrate the centennial of the Iowa State Wilson Chapter. Alpha Zeta is a professional, service and honorary agricultural fraternity for men and women in agriculture. The conference theme is "Planting Seeds for Tomorrow's Agricultural Leaders." Alpha Zeta students and alumni from across the United States will attend. Participants will tour Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc., Barilla and Becker-Underwood. Planned activities include personal development workshops, panel discussions and social events. The Wilson Chapter at Iowa State became the 11th Alpha Zeta chapter when chartered on Nov. 27, 1905. The chapter was named in honor of James 'Tama Jim' Wilson, the first professor of agriculture and the first director of the Agricultural Experiment Station.
