ISU College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Student Makes USA Today All-College Academic Team

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State University senior Clark Richardson received honorable mention in the 20th annual USA Today All-USA College Academic Team.

Richardson will graduate May 9 with a bachelor's of science degree in agricultural business and international agriculture and a bachelor's of arts degree in political science, economics and minor in Spanish.

Richardson has earned many honors during his college career. He is a Truman Scholar Finalist, a Wallace E. Barron Outstanding Senior Award Recipient, recipient of the Talbot Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in the political science department, member of Phi Beta Kappa and a recipient of the President's Junior Leadership Award.

Richardson also has been active in several community service projects. He participated in the Center for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods Service Learning trip to Uganda, where he taught agricultural classes and worked in the school gardens at two primary schools. He spent the last three months in Buenos Aires volunteering with a community organization that provides legal and psychological aid to children and adolescents.

After graduating Richardson plans to teach pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children in Maryland as part of the Teach for America program.

His parents, Lynn and Marilyn Richardson, live in Memphis. His brother Jon also graduated from Iowa State in chemical engineering.
