Iowa State University Job Fair Set to Break Recruiter Record

AMES, Iowa -- The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University expects to hold its largest job fair Oct. 16.

"Probably close to 200 organizations will be in attendance, compared with 175 last year," said Mike Gaul, director of the Career Services for the college.

Known as Ag Career Day, it is the largest agricultural job recruitment event in the country. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center on the ISU campus.

"Given the college's record enrollment, we are very excited to add this milestone to the positive momentum the college is experiencing right now," Gaul said. "It reinforces the fact our students and programs are held in high regards throughout the industry."

The event marks the official "kick off" to the on-campus recruitment season. "We anticipate hosting more than 600 interviews the following day at the Memorial Union," he added.
