The Office of Social and Economic Trend Analysis (SETA) at Iowa State University has released a set of data on CD called “Iowa by the Numbers, 2004.” The CD contains Iowa economic, population and social information broken down by state, county and incorporated places. The topic areas include: agriculture, business and industry, climate and geography, crime and safety, education employment, energy, finance and banking, health and vital statistics, housing, income and poverty, international, population, retail and wholesale trade, taxes, travel and transportation. "We hope this information will provide people with easy access to important statistics about the state of Iowa, our counties and towns," said Cindy Anderson, SETA's professor-in-charge. The information contained on the CD is based on U.S. Census data. It is available as PDF (Adobe Portable Document Format) and/or Microsoft Excel files. The price of a CD is $20 or $30, depending on the file format. More information and online ordering are available on the SETA website.
