AMES, Iowa — Strong interest from employers looking for job and internship candidates has prompted the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to schedule its first spring career fair for Feb. 14. The college is known for its Ag Career Day in the fall, which is the largest event of its kind. Last October, 151 employers participated in the career fair. There are 90 companies signed up to take part, said Mike Gaul, career services director. Approximately 20 percent are companies and organizations that did not attend the fall event. He expected a final tally of about 100. Gaul said there were several employers who couldn't fit into last fall's career day because of construction in the Memorial Union. Some companies last fall were still preparing their internship programs and weren't ready to recruit. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m. in the Great Hall and Sun Room of the Memorial Union. The employers planning to attend are listed on the career services website.
