CF Industries Supports ISU Efforts to Help Farm Flood Recovery

AMES, Iowa — Thanks to a $25,000 gift from CF Industries, Inc., Iowa State University Extension will provide free financial planning to Iowa farm families dealing with the aftermath of this year's flooding. With the company's commitment, ISU Extension will temporarily offer its Farm Financial Planning services at no charge. Families in disaster-affected counties are invited to use the program to evaluate their farm businesses in response to flooding, delayed planting or rising livestock feed costs. Farm Financial Planning is ISU Extension's farm financial analysis program. Farm financial associates provide one-on-one financial counseling, a computerized analysis of the farm business and referral to other extension programs or outside services. For more information, visit the website here or contact your local ISU Extension county office. CF Industries also has committed an additional $25,000 to help ISU's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences restore flood-damaged areas at research farms across Iowa. The support will help ISU replace tile drains, reseed eroded waterways, repeat field experiments that were destroyed and support long-term studies on soil fertility, water quality and crop rotation. CF Industries, Inc., the major operating subsidiary of CF Industries Holdings, Inc., is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer products in North America. The company is headquartered in Deerfield, Ill.
