Ag Career Day Job Fair Set for Oct. 15 at Iowa State University

AMES, Iowa — The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University is holding its largest job fair ever Oct. 15.

More than 230 companies and organizations will participate in Ag Career Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center. The event is open to the public.

“This continues to be an amazing time for students in agriculture and related life science areas,” said Mike Gaul, director of Agriculture and Life Sciences Career Services. “The growth of this event and the number of new companies in attendance is a testament to the quality of students and programs associated with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.”

The job fair provides an opportunity for all Iowa State students to meet with recruiters on internships and full-time positions available with agribusinesses, commodity groups and governmental agencies. Many students from campuses across the country attend what is known as the largest career fair of its kind.

Ag Career Day kicks off an extensive day of on-campus interviews on Oct. 16. Gaul said more than 80 interview schedules have been established and there will be nearly 700 individual interviews conducted.
