Intern Explores Animal Science

Sabrina Victorin is from Charlotte, North Carolina and currently attends North Carolina A&T University. Victorin is working with Susan Lamont, an animal science professor, and Michael Keiser, a research assistant, both in the animal science department. Her research consists of poultry microbiology and identifying various strands of E. coli. This is a great opportunity for Victorin considering she has hopes of attending veterinary school after graduating in 2019.

What is the most exciting part of your research?
“Working in the lab and learning about different methods of research.”

What words of advice do you have for someone who has a passion for science?
“Don’t be afraid to try new experiences. If you want something, go for it.”

What is one thing you’d like to scratch off of your bucket list?
“Skydiving.”

What do you like most about Ames?
“The scenery and the people.”
