Future Entomologist Reconfirms Passion

Lauryn Dughi is from Huntsville, Alabama and recently graduated from Alabama A&M University. Dughi is working with Joel Coats, an entomology professor, researching fly and mosquito essential oil repellants and toxicants. Dughi feels this experience will enhance her future career, since she hopes to pursue a career in the entomology.

What’s the most exciting or interesting part of the work?
“Hands on experience with entomology, which I love.”

What advice do you have for someone who has a passion for science?
“Follow your dreams. You can never have too much knowledge and science can help change the world.”

Where do you hope to travel someday?
“Australia and Greece.”

What do you like most about Ames?
“All of the bunnies.”
