Aspiring Agriculture Business Owner

Terry Vines is from Roanoke, Alabama and currently attends Tuskegee University. Vines is working with Angela Shaw, a food science and human nutrition assistant professor, researching the use of outdoor education facilities. Vines sees a future in this field and after graduating next year plans to utilize what he learns when opens up his own agricultural business.

What is the most exciting part of your research?
“Visiting different Ag related businesses.”

What advice do you have for someone who has a passion for science?
“Take all opportunities to travel and be open to new projects.”

Who is your role model and why?
“My grandfather. He has spent his like working to better his community by creating jobs for hundreds of people.”

What is your favorite summertime food?
“BBQ and lemonade.”

Is this your first time in Iowa?
“Yes. I was afraid it would only be cornfields but there are lots of things to do and ISU has a great campus.”
